Requires a minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience as a lead teacher at K-12 schools outside the U.S. in a role related to the position applied for.
Must demonstrate English proficiency.
Must seek to come to the United States temporarily for the purpose of teaching full-time and sharing their culture in an accredited primary or secondary school.
Must be currently teaching at the time of application, or, if not, must have had at least two years of full-time teaching experience within the past eight years and be pursuing an advanced degree in education or the relevant subject area, or have obtained such a degree from outside the U.S. within the 12 months prior to application.
Must meet the qualifications for teaching in primary or secondary schools in their country of nationality or previous legal residence.
Must possess at least the equivalent of a 4-year U.S. bachelor’s degree in education or the subject to be taught, along with a formal credential evaluation of the degree demonstrating U.S. equivalency.
Must satisfy the teaching standards of the U.S. state in the state of placement (including obtaining state licensing where required).
Must have a formal written offer from an accredited U.S. primary or secondary school.
